Sligo Rovers travel to Dublin on Friday to take on Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght Stadium in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division, kick-off 8pm.
The Bit O’ Red go in search of a third win in succession in Dublin following victories against St Patrick’s Athletic and Bohemians recently.
In team news, Gary Boylan (ACL) and Adam Morgan (abdominal) are out.
Gerard Lyttle said: “We managed to fill a weekend off with a game against Glentoran. It was a good practice exercise. We’ve trained well and prepared for what will be a tough game.
“It’s a good, big pitch and one I think we can do well on. Shamrock Rovers have had a good record recently, they’ve had a lot of clean sheets. They’ve signed well in the window. It’s a good test of us. It’s one we’re looking forward to.
“The one benefit in the two weeks without a game is it allowed some of our new players to bed in. I don’t think Lee Lynch needed it, he’s experienced and bubbly and knows what it’s all about here.
“Kris Twardek has to get to know the league, the club, his team-mates and a different type of football. So the two weeks has been good for him to settle in more. We know what he’s capable of.
“Mikey should have had at least two goals in the friendly. He got one, had one ruled out and came close on other occasions. It’s positive signs as he gets up to speed. He’s a great player and when the complete sharpness comes, he’ll be a huge threat in this league.
“We face a lot of away games. It’s not ideal but we know what we can do away from home when you look at some of the results. We have an opportunity to add to those performances. That’s our aim and we’re excited about going there, trying to do it.”
