Last Saturday our brand new Under 17 Women’s team made their first home appearance and to celebrate we threw open the gates of The Showgrounds to all the young female players in the north west of Ireland by hosting FIFA Live Your Goals.

250 football mad girls took part with bus loads of players coming from all over the region including Kilmurry, Ballina, Westport and even from much closer with Merville Utd, just across the road, well represented too.

With loads of free gear, bags and footballs to get their hands on as well as the opportunity to meet international players Tyler Toland (Republic of Ireland) and Catherine Hyndman (Northern Ireland) and show off their own skills it was a festival of female football and everyone left with a large smile on their face as they clutched their goodie bags and footballs.
